DGmag Covers (2013 to 2021)

NOTICE: From now on, I shall no longer be uploading every cover here. That is because there will be changes to back issues (due to outdated material - pages have been removed from certain issues) and uploading EVERY cover and their changes will be too time consuming. Here though, you can see every cover of the issue's original uploads from 2013's Dom's Kitty Bother to 2021's Rick and Morty Strike Back.

For your own enjoyment and pleasure now you can look and gasp as to how our design and covers have changed over the last seven years. Oh blimey! (Again, note that these covers are from the unchanged editions. So pages and covers from 2013 to 2016 will have been tweaked since then.)

The DGmag - Summertime Madness

Issue: 68

Released: 16th May 2020

"Boat I cannot swim!"

What utter tuna carnage!

"Caution! This vehicle is reversing!"

"Think I'll take forty winks."

"Go on. Hop it! Push off you rude policeman!!"

26/01/22 - What a silly blunder I had made. Oh dear. I had only
gone and called poor Josh here Jake instead. Poor Josh! Here's
the page corrected with his correct name to make up for the error.
Both Jake and Josh are not amused. (Gulp...)

The cat was probably due a bath anyway.

I've heard that litter trays can catch fire during such heat...

Pardon you Millow.

Alright you naughty ghosts. BAPS enough now!

VARIANT COVERS!

(Only difference here, is the baby Millow instead
of Susan to advertise the Bad Babies strip)

The DGmag - One from 1945, VE Day Upload

Finally completed the old DGmag just in time for VE Day 2020. So, let's discuss this issue shall we.

I did plan to have more hand drawn strips than I've ended up with but as it's been about ten or so months working on this issue I decided to finish it here. It's only eight pages now of course but that's better than none at all. I hope to have more hand drawn strips if I make another old DGmag.

I've also doctored the Jon the Bouncy Ball strip as old fourpenny bits were more or less a thing of the past then. Definitely in 1945. So I changed the coin to a halfpenny bit.

Mr. Screacher was also originally due to give John Addam the cane as seen being foreshadowed in the image for that story, but as that felt too much like a punishment we're all glad to forget, I changed it to lines. Just as bad for some but probably more relatable in today's era. Ie, in The Simpsons intro.

The design too, was meant to harken to the old Beano and Dandy covers with a mascot or character by the logo. Here Ginger is drawn similar to Korky the Cat and in a pose similar to The Dandy's original character seen by the logo from issue 1 forwards for many years.

Also, it was meant to be an issue from 1938, but as today is a special day celebrating VE Day, I thought that having the issue set then would feel better as if it was made after we won the war.

Overall I really enjoyed making this issue but perhaps my grammar in writing here is still quite modern in areas. I know, I tried to write the stories as if they were written in 1945, but it's harder than what I'm used to. Ie, being contemporary.

But what do you lot think? Should I choose another decade for another old DGmag? Maybe more modern such as the early naughties? Who knows?

The DGmag - Attack Of The Versions!

Issue: 67

 Released: 10th April 2020

Those two look familiar...

"Explain yourself owner!"

Wish I lived in a house that lovely. But beggars can't be choosers!

"Get out off our house other us!"

"Hi! I'm back!"

What are these two other Dom and Gingers doing here?
Our versions do this page! Not them!!

Thought you only knew Hood's Grandma as a boring old fogey?
Think again!

Well... This is disappointing...
Four times the nappy changes now. Oh dear...

That explains why Dominic was always so long in the toilet. He
was never in the toilet to begin with!

"Not now princess. Daddy's having himself a nice game of golf!"
